1st shift – (Monday-Friday, 6am-2pm)
No experience necessary! We will train for this position!
Responsibilities:
- Operate automatic electric arc welding machine to weld a limited variety of standard and repetitive work.
- Move machine controls and guides to adjust machine.
- Load and unload welded parts from robotic welder and place in appropriate containers.
- Examine finished work pieces to verify conformance with specifications according to operator inspection sheet, quality control plans and/or customer notes using instruments such as gauges.
- May change fixtures, adjust and regulate machine in accordance with instructions or approval check of the setup person.
- Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on equipment and machines.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- A high school degree or equivalency is required. A technical degree in welding or experience with robotic welding is a plus.
- Experience running a fast-paced machine.
- Ability to read and interpret documents like blueprints, welding symbols safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Attention to detail to perform precision work, often with straight edges and minimal flaws
- Ability to see details and characteristics of the weld joint and detect changes in molten metal flows which requires good eyesight and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal standard operation and safety instructions.
- Aptitude to become proficient at using welding gages to indicate parts and verify dimensions of a work piece per engineering specifications.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Ability to get to work on time and to maintain acceptable attendance.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand a minimum of 7.5 hours a day.
- Must be capable of handling 20 to 75 parts per hour.
- Ability to regularly lift and carry parts from 5 to 45 lbs. Occasionally up to 60 lbs. Hoists area available.
- Frequent twisting, reaching, grasping and bending.
- Ability to see blueprints, measuring tools and paperwork. Ability to write to complete paperwork.
- Use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools or controls.
